French & Grace in Brixton opened in 2011 and soon became part of the growing Brixton Village food community. With a tiny budget and an amazng team of passionate chefs and waiting staff, they translated elements of their supper club into a former butcher’s shop to create a restaurant they longed to eat in – a unique, homely and intimate nook in the beating heart of their neighbourhood. Rosie French took over as chef-owner in 2013.


After failing to reach an agreement with our landlords – who refused to offer us long term security despite our significant investment in the unit – we made the very hard decision to close our doors at the end of 2016 after five wonderful years of feeding you. We’ve made friends for life, many F&G staff now live together and are part of a lifelong community that all started here. We will never forget everyone who supported us and ate with us over the years. THANK YOU X
